The Second Session of the World Chinese Medicine Forum Spring 2026: Masterclass on Clinical Strategies and Case Studies of Special Diathesis Successfully Held

2026-06-23

On May 17, 2026, the second session of the World Chinese Medicine Forum (WCMF) Spring 2026—an exclusive online masterclass themed Clinical Strategies and Case Studies of Special Diathesis led by Professor Tang Jun from Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine—successfully concluded. Focusing on the global prevalent challenge of allergic diseases, this session rooted in the core theories of TCM constitutionology, systematically analyzed the conditioning logic, clinical diagnosis and treatment plans, and real-world cases of special diathesis. It attracted TCM practitioners, allergy specialists, health managers, and TCM enthusiasts from over ten countries and regions worldwide, building an authoritative communication bridge for the international dissemination of TCM diagnosis and treatment of special diathesis.

As a non-profit platform dedicated to promoting international academic exchanges and standardized development of TCM, the World Chinese Medicine Forum has successfully organized eight series of academic events since its establishment in 2022, covering core fields such as TCM constitution, endocrinology, gynecology, pediatrics, and dermatology. Over 60% of global participants are non-ethnic Chinese, continuously promoting TCM’s characteristic theories and clinical experience worldwide and becoming a vital window for international TCM exchanges.

This session invited Professor Tang Jun, a distinguished TCM physician and chief TCM physician, as the keynote speaker. As a disciple of National Master of TCM Academician Wang Qi, Professor Tang Jun has decades of experience in TCM internal medicine, preventive treatment of diseases, and diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. She holds important academic positions in the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and China Association of Chinese Medicine, with profound clinical experience and academic attainments, especially in special diathesis identification, integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases, and constitution conditioning.

Centered on "special diathesis", the session was well-structured and rich in content. Professor Tang Jun first sorted out the global prevalence of allergic diseases, using authoritative data to highlight the characteristics of high incidence, high recurrence, and heavy economic burden of allergic diseases, and analyzed the latest progress and limitations of modern medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. She then deeply interpreted the core connotation of TCM special diathesis, combined with the 2025 national standard Classification and Determination of TCM Constitution, clarified the physiological characteristics, psychological traits, disease susceptibility, and diagnostic criteria of special diathesis, and explained the "constitution soil theory"—special diathesis is the "common soil" for the occurrence of allergic diseases, and conditioning the constitution is the fundamental way to prevent and treat allergies.

The core of the session focused on the advantages and clinical plans of TCM in conditioning special diathesis. Inheriting the academic thoughts of Academician Wang Qi, Professor Tang Jun elaborated on the original TCM thinking of "treating allergies focuses on treating people", and shared the compatibility principles and clinical applications of the four-desensitization formula (mume fructus, periostracum cicadae, ganoderma, and radix saposhnikoviae). For four common allergic diseases—allergic rhinitis, asthma, urticaria, and eczema—she provided targeted prescriptions and modification ideas based on syndrome differentiation. Meanwhile, she sorted out the applicable scenarios of classic prescriptions such as Xiaofeng Powder, Anti-Allergy Decoction, and Yupingfeng Powder, and clarified the staged diagnosis and treatment principle of "treating symptoms during acute attacks and consolidating the foundation during remission" for allergic diseases.

In addition, Professor Tang Jun combined typical clinical cases (children with atopic dermatitis complicated with allergic rhinitis, eczema with asthma, adult chronic urticaria, etc.) to intuitively demonstrate the whole-process diagnosis and treatment effects of special diathesis conditioning, from constitutional intervention, oral Chinese medicine, external treatment, emotional conditioning, to lifestyle guidance. Real cases verified the unique value of TCM in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. Finally, she provided practical suggestions for daily conditioning of people with special diathesis from five dimensions: diet, daily life, exercise, emotion, and acupoint health care, balancing professionalism and practicality.

This session was co-organized by Tianjiang Pharmaceutical and Blue Light Inc., with strong support from a number of professional TCM associations and institutions across North America.

Looking ahead, the World Chinese Medicine Forum will continue to focus on TCM’s characteristic advantageous fields, launch a series of high-quality courses around constitutional conditioning, chronic disease prevention and treatment, and diagnosis and treatment of difficult diseases, gather top TCM experts and academic resources at home and abroad, deepen the international sharing of TCM theories and clinical experience, promote the standardized and innovative development of TCM in the global health field, continuously inject TCM wisdom into building a global community of health for all, and let TCM constitutional conditioning and characteristic diagnosis and treatment technologies benefit more people around the world.
