AKSU,China,Dec. 2,2024 -- On November 30,theAlar 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic base project (Phase I) of the First Division of the Xinjiang Corps successfully connected 1 million kilowatts to the grid to generate electricity,marking the official operation of the largest photovoltaic project of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The total investment of the project is 3.83 billion yuan,which is not only the largest photovoltaic project with monomer capacity in southern Xinjiang,but also an important milestone in promoting the transformation of regional energy structure and energy conservation and emission reduction.

Thephotovoltaic base project supports the construction of a 220 kV booster station and a 53-kilometer output line,and is also equipped with an energy storage power station of 250,000 kilowatts/1 million kilowatt-hours. After commissioning,the average annual Internet power is expected to reach 1.22 billion kilowatt-hours,which will greatly improve the regional energy supply capacity. In addition,the project can save 389,500 tons of standard coal every year,reduce carbon dioxide,sulfur dioxide and other emissions,and its energy-saving and emission reduction benefits are remarkable.

In addition to environmental protection benefits,the project also actively controls sandy,degraded and saline grasslands,and promotes the coordinated development of thephotovoltaic power generation industry and the ecological restoration of degraded grasslands. The shading effect of photovoltaic panels has effectively improved the growth environment of desert plants,reduced dust,and played a good role in restoring the natural ecology of desertified areas in Xinjiang.

In order to ensure the smooth networking of the project,State GridAksu Power Supply Company tracks the progress of the project construction throughout the whole process and provides all-round technical support and policy answers. The successful networking of the project highlights the determination and achievements of the Aksu region in the development of new energy. Up to now,the installed power supply in Aksu has reached 10,316,15 million kilowatts,of which the installed capacity of clean energy accounts for more than 74% and the installed capacity of photovoltaics accounts for more than 51%. The installed capacity of the power supply has reached a new level.
